Hi everyone,
I have narraowed down my choices and I need help with my decision to go to UPenn or MD. I am from MD, so I would count as instate, but I really liked UPenn when I visited. I was wondering if when I graduate it would make a difference that it was from UPenn or MD. Also, I want to know about people's experiences from these two schools.

I appreciate any input. Thanks!!

I am having the same problem, except its in a different state. It seems like many people are having this problem.

It's a good problem to have though. Ultimately you have to think about living in the area for four years. If you hate the surrounding area the school is in then that will probably affect how happy you will be there.

I am a bit of a technophile so I loved that MD had such cool cutting edge technology in all their clinics. If you are big into sim labs than no other school will top Maryland's. You will also get some great clinical exposure due to it's location.

I haven't been to UPenn so I don't know too much about them.

I am having the same problem choosing between my state school (the University of Florida) and the University of Maryland.

I find instate tuition very enticing. With the 100K+ that I will be saving by going instate, the sooner I can buy a house, new car, and private jet 😀

First off - congrats to all you that have recently been accepted. I remember how awesome that felt just 2 yrs ago, especially after working so hard for so long.

Anyway, I am a 2nd year at UMD and I have to say that I am sooooo happy I chose to come here (ps I was instate as well). If you have any questions, please feel free to message me. What I can say w/out a doubt is that the faculty, facilities, and patient base is tremendous.

The best advice anyone can give you is to go w/ your gut feeling. To the OP: I would make an extensive pro/con list comparing Penn to MD. That will most likely help you choose wisely.

Anyway, congrats again and be thankful you have a choice to make. Either school you attend will be lucky to have you. Good luck and feel free to ask me if you want to know anything about MD.
