Hi everyone,

I am a pre-dental student and I have recently been accepted to the Post-bacc program at UPenn and the MBS program at Barry. I need to make a decision soon. Besides the fact that one offers a masters degree and the other doesn't and one is an ivy league school and the other isn't, what else do you think are the pro's and con's of each program/university?

I will really appreciate any help! thank you!

it's Upenn SSP =) thank you so much for helping!

I am leaning towards Upenn mostly for the name and the dental school there as well. I will be a reapplicant to dental schools next year when I apply and I was just wondering whether a masters would look better than a post-bacc for my app. I was reading through many threads and there are mixed opinions on this - on choosing b/w a post-bacc and masters. Any thoughts on that?

Depends what your GPA is.

I chose SSP over many SMP programs because with some good work in 1-yr at UPenn I can get my undergrad GPA up significantly. Choosing an SMP, will leave your undergrad GPA as it is.

In theory, you could also do SSP then an SMP, but not the other way around.

so an SMP is for those who have a higher GPA?

also, do any of you know if penn has any linkages to dental schools? i can't access the linkages link on the penn website as it needs a pennkey but i read in the other thread that they do have linkages to few medical schools.

EDIT: I called them and for anyone that wants to know - they said they have a linkage available to Nova.
