upper div bio classes input needed ASAP

All,

I have been informed by my engineering grad program that they might let me take upper div bio classes. Already took biochem, what else should I take? Need two options as I can only overload so much.

Microbiology, anatomy and physiology, and genetics would all be good courses.

I agree with customx. These are all good options. If I were you I would either take microbiology (because you will take it again in dental school), or physiology.

Evolution would also be a good class to take, along with cell and molecular biology, developmental biology, ecology, etc. I posted the subjects that will be covered on the biology portion of the DAT here:

If I had to choose 2 classes to take out of the whole list I would go with Anatomy & Physiology, and Genetics, it seemed like those were two subjects that appeared a lot on the biology section when I took the DAT.

I would say, if you have time, then do microbiology or physiology. But as they mentioned earlier, genetics, anatomy are good choices too. anatomy is time consuming.

Yeah anatomy is really time consuming, if you are going to take anatomy, try not to take a lot of hard classes with anatomy!

I would try to take whatever upper level bio classes that are required (or strongly recommended) by the schools you hope to apply to. If you have the ADEA book, that is a very good reference. Microbiology, anatomy/physiology, and histology are good choices.

Thanks you guys, you rock! I am outside my advisors office right now about to walk into the gauntlet. I am going to push for microbio and maybe cell bio b/c those are the ones I can most easily defend in regards to their application to environmental engineering (the MS Im in)

The most important heavy hitters are:
Biochem (you have this covered), Microbiology, Physiology, and Histology

The others that are considered "great":
Gross anatomy, Genetics, Immunology, cell biology, pharmacology, and a few more I can't think of
