I will be starting upper division biology soon.

I can guess that many pre dents here may be majoring in bio. My question is, how is upper division bio.?

I guess I did okay in general ed. After two years I got a 3.5 GPA or so, but that was at a community college. I will be transferring to a UC soon. Will my work ethic have to dramatically increase? Will it be more interesting?

Any input would do. Experiences? 🙂 thanks

I liked my upper divisions better. Classes like morphology, biochem, developmental, physiology should all be more interesting than general bio with its plants and cell operons.

Yes to both questions (unless we are talking about genetics, big time yes for 1st, big time no for 2nd).... as you can tell by now, I hated genetics

But seriously, many upper level bios are taught by professors with a mind set that most of the students will end up in medical/other healthcare fields, they teach in such a way that obtaining a high grade requires good amount of studying..... Many of my upper level bios, exam averages were in the low 50s, and if it was "easy" exam, mid 60s.
