Hi all,

I'm planning to take a few upper-level bio courses at a CC this Fall (biochem, physio, cell bio) to prepare for the MCAT in the Spring because I prefer studying through coursework than on my own. Taking these courses at a CC instead of my local 4-year university will be much more compatible with my work schedule and much less financially straining.

Might adcoms view this as gpa padding or have any concern with it? I've already completed all the prereqs (including orgo 2) as a post-bacc at a local 4-year with a 4.0.

Thanks!

No. You'll be fine. Just make sure you do well in them.

Depends on the med school. Most DO schools are fine with CC but some MD progs have a strong bias against so definitely check with the particular schools you are interested in and see what they prefer. Also do well on the mcat or it could call into question the rigor of your study more than it would typical 4 yr progs.

Good luck
