Hey,

So i've searched, and I know the case that when you repair your GPA with retakes, it's always recommended to take upper level bio's too to show you can handle coursework.

On top of the pre-reqs(a few of which I will repeat), i've taken 5 upper level bio's(Anat, Ecology, Microb, Biochemistry, and advanced biochemistry). I pulled A's in 3/5, B- and B in Anat/Biochem1.

Would taking an upper level biostatistics course also show the same aptitude, or does it have to be in the traditional physiology, genetics, cell bio kind of courses? I'm quite good at statistics.

Thanks.

How did you get a B in biochem but an A in advanced biochem

Biostatistics is listed under Biology, so in fact it is a upper level biology course at our school.. would that be somehow questioned?

As far as Biochem goes, it was just one of those days. Advanced Biochem is more focused rather than shotgun cover everything.

In that case it'll likely pass as bio as the people doing these things will be too lazy to recode it as math. But yah, it's a math course. Math =/= Sgpa

Call AACOMAS with that question. Don't make a life decision without knowing an official stance on the question.

IMO you should take the biostats course anyway. I just had an entire semester of it, again, in med school. That stuff will be on your COMLEX one day believe it or not.
