Hi!

What is the consensus on taking upper level courses from the "Other science" categories? Say for example, some 300 or 400 level courses in Geology or Exercise Science. Does it look good for a post-bacc in terms of gpa repair (besides the obvious grade replacement)

Adcoms aren't dumb, they see courses that aren't related to your major. Pick "other science" courses that are somewhat related to your major or medical school. The courses still count toward yours gpa though

of course. granted, as a post-bacc, there is no major at hand but i do see the validity in taking courses that are relatable. like what i'm wondering is if a course in say... forensic anthropology (where you examine remains) is seen just as valid as a bio elective.

nothing wrong with that if you include a good mix of things like biochem, anatomy and physiology, genetics etc.

My adviser told me "any BMS class ending in -ology" looks good for med school... Immunology, microbiology, parasitology, bacteriology, cell & molecular biology, human genetics...ology... etc.
