Upward trend importance?

Are you retaking any of the 08 classes? DO schools allow you to recalculate your GPA using only the retakes. MD schools take each attempt into consideration.
An upward trend is crucial and those fabled 'non trad friendly' schools will be a little more forgiving.
The question is, can you take all those classes at once and get a 4.0? are you sure? You cannot afford a major screw up in a class while trying to show an upward trend with a steep incline.
