Hi all,

I'm from the University of Queensland Medical Society. Thought you guys would want to know about an amazing event coming up in a couple of weeks- directed at the Queensland Medical Community.

We're hosting the 52nd ES Meyers Lecture, which this year, is being delivered this year by Dr Rowan Gillies, part international president of Médecins Sans Frontières.

MSF is the world’s leading humanitarian aid organisation, and was recognised for their *amazing* work with a Nobel Prize in 1999. Dr Gillies is one of the charismatic and respected doctors in Australia, it's going to truly be an inspirational night. A nice little reminder that there's more to studying medicine than exams and textbooks.

The prestigious lecture is the largest in the Southern Hemisphere, and a celebrated part of the Australian medical tradition (past speakers include Sir Edmund Hillary, Lord Jeffrey Archer & Mr Imrah Khan- not to mention an ARRAY of Nobel-Prize winners). It’s going to be a very inspirational night- a wonderful opportunity (not just for medical students and doctors!) for everyone in Brisbane! We’re in a wonderful position to make a small difference in the world!

Let me know if you have any questions

Thienminh.
