Hey guys I've been accepted to two schools: MWU and Nova. Not sure which school I want to go to. I have a deadline to pay the matriculation fee. Am I allowed to pay the matriculation fee for both then when I make up my mind can I withdraw at one of the schools?. Obviously I know I won't get a refund...

Usually that's why it's nonrefundable...in case you decide to not go and they had been holding that seat the whole time. People do that all the time.

My only concern was I thought the matriculation certified that I would be a student there. So I can pay both fees then decide? I was told if I pay the fee I'm signing a contract that says I'll be going there the following academic cycle and I'd be stuck there

You can drop all your classes at most schools the first week and get a full refund of tuition. Other fees YMMV.

Just go where the tuition is cheaper. I'm not a fan of NOVA, Large tuition sub-par education.

NSU has improved a lot since the late 2000s... I always hear this crap about NOVA, yet I have seen UF students go blank during presentations while on rotations... And I believe UF tuition is only 2-3k cheaper than NOVA, when NSU is private and UF is a public school.

I'm just curious that if I pay my matriculation fee to Mwu lets say and I end up deciding to go to nova... Can I call Mwu in lets say January and drop out of the school? I'd rather avoid being a student then dropping my classes first week of class while being enrolled at another university in September of 2015..

I believe Mwu and nova are same tier academics wise. Tuition at Mwu is more expensive but for me it's a location thing. What do you guys think about both programs?

Only 2-3k cheaper, are you serious? Wow, NOVA must have not been raising their tuition with everyone else. If that's true, then good for them. NOVA was having their accreditation threatened when I was at UF. I'm not judging NOVA because they have some piss poor students, there were certainly some students in my class that couldn't present their way out of a paper bag. I just compared our curriculum with NOVA's while I was in with a friend of mine that was attending NOVA and it was weak in comparison. As a preceptor I have worked with students from both schools and the level of knowledge with NOVA students tends to be less in general, although there are stars from both schools. LECOM is by far the worst in the state.

Yes, their tuition is getting closer and closer to that of UFs. And I agree with u, UF is the best school in Florida, but NSU had a curriculum change not too long ago, and I have heard really good things about. At last the school got a dean that not ONLY cares about money 🙂

That's good, I feel like with the location of the school it should be the prime "competition" for UF. Now there are just too many schools in FL. USF now and I heard UM is trying to open one. Crazy, that would make like 9 schools right? Too many.

UM too? First time I heard about this... We currently have 6 (UF, NSU, FAMU, LECOM, PBA and USF)... no need to open more of them.

Well, lets just put it this way. I heard that the dean of UF-COP left UF and went to UM. Given the fact that they have a medical school and the amount of money a pharmacy program brings in, I wouldn't be surprised.

Anyone else have anything to say NSU? Is it well respected amongst professionals in Florida? Outside of Florida?
