I am writing in 9 days and am slightly panicking now that I cannot find a KAPLAN OAT book. I am looking for some insight from the many knowledgeable sdn101er's on here. Right now, I am studying off of Princeton MCAT books, an old kaplan DAT book and a Barrons DAT book. I couldnt get a hold of a large KAPLAN OAT book in time. I have also bought the online OAT achiever and have yet to go through it but my aim is to try and simulate the real test scenario with that once I build up my knowledge base.

My concerns are material covered on the OAT vs the DAT since i thought they would be very similar but i am not sure.. Are they almost the same?.. the QR sections, ORGO, BIO, CHEM etc and Reading comp? physics would cover everything the mcat tested..? or are there less physics units tested on the OAT then the MCAT?

Also does the reading section have 50 q's in 50 mins? or is it 50 q's in 60 mins?

Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The QR, Orgo, Bio, Chem, and Reading Comp sections are the same in the OAT and DAT. The Kaplan materials are exactly the same for these sections.

Reading comp has 40 questions in 50 minutes.

From testprepreview.com: The content breakdown of this section is as follows: 40 biology items; 30 general chemistry items; and 30 organic chemistry items. The reading comprehension test consists of three passages followed by a total of 40 questions. The physics test consists of 40 multiple-choice questions and must be completed in 50 minutes. The quantitative reasoning section consists of 40 items and must be completed in 45 minutes.

I'm not sure how MCAT is as far as science, but I heard the reading comprehension is a lot more complex than it is on the OAT. I write on thursday, you can look for complete experience (I'll be posting it most likely on Friday). Try to find a oat kaplan book maybe at barnes n noble or borders in your area. or check your local library..or really search the internet, you should be able to find a few websites with free review's (If I come across them I'll post them but I don't have them handy at the moment).

Don't stress, I had my first anxiety attack today- with less than two days to the test, I have come to understand that you CANNOT know EVERYTHING. and that's okay...the key is to breathe.
