I'm terribly sorry, I know this is inappropriate, but I have an urgent question.

My dog swallowed a vibrating ring (embarrassing!). It's a german shorthaired pointer. What should I do?

I cant afford a surgery. Will it pass on its own? How long will it take?

Again, I'm very sorry for posting this here. I know that's not the intention of this forum, but I do not know where else to go at this time of night.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

Well, its good he didnt choke. If it were me, Id take him to the emergency clinic near by just to make sure he is ok and talk with the vet about the size of the ring to see if they think it will pass on its own. They will be able to give you the best in depth info. and maybe take an xray to see where it is. If he seems fine and you really cant afford an emergency vet bill you could wait til tomorrow morning. But you really need to go in instead of just waiting to see if it passes.

ok, i'm going to take her first thing in the morning.

how much do you think it will cost?

THANKS for your help.

are you THAT short on money? if they dont do anything it should cost the same as a regular exam which shouldnt be a problem because i hope you are taking him in for his annual exams 🙂
Just think, your dog is alive!! imagine if he would have choked?? in my opinion, any amount of money is worth saving my baby, if you cant pay it all at once they will usually set up a payment plan to help you

Please be careful about giving medical advice.

If you are concerned about your pet, you need to see the advice of a DVM who can EXAMINE your pet. Our speculations about what care an animal we haven't seen, especially since the vast majority of us are NOT vets, is not any sort of substitution for veterinary care.
