Got off the WL at NYITCOM yesterday and I've committed to WVSOM so far. I only have like a few hours to make a decision. OOS for both.

WVSOM
Pros:
Great faculty support & students seem happy
Good match list
cheapest tuition $54,000 (base) (already paid $3,000 deposit which would apply to this)
Wilderness medicine seems cool
Exams emulate boards
Golden weekends

Cons:
Research not super accessible - I would be interested in a more competitive specialty
Rural area/rotations - I prefer something more urban
4 hr drive away from a support system
Not P/F

NYITCOM
Pros:
I really like the area
Amazing match list
Plenty of research opportunities and center for global health

Cons:
Confused about their attrition rates
Exams not board style
$66,000 tuition (base) plus HCOL
5 hr drive away from support system
Seems like students aren't always happy with how fast the school is changing the curriculum

I'm so torn. I may want to match northeast. Do I prioritize debt saving or opportunities available .....

roughly $20K more unfortunately... I was thinking I could claim IS tuition after a year though
Find out how easy that is because many states lock you out from changing to IS tuition. I know it is routine for OH schools to let you change after one year but have not heard it for the Northeast.

I would have to register car, register to vote there, and get new jersey driver's license... so it would certainly be difficult. If I stay as OOS for Rowan, it would be an extra 100K across all 4 years unfortunately. Would you still recommend the cost effective option?

Those things tend to be the standard procedure and are done at the DMV. More difficult would be if they want you to prove you have lived there 1 or more years before starting school (ie are not coming to the state solely for school) and/or are very strict about you not leaving the state for more than say 2 weeks. If you can stay on top of those requirements, go to Rowan. Otherwise, WVSOM.
