i am extremely worried about the qr section on the real DAT
for those of you who have taken it, how would you compare kaplan's practice tests and topscore to it?

i have heard that the real thing is a lot harder than the practice tests, but how so.... like stuff youve never seen before and more pressed for time?

and how many word problems vs algebraic manipulations are on it?

and what/how would you suggest studying for it..... (i dont have time to buy CDM)

CDM can be downloaded in no time, but I guess you will not have time for it. I believe QR is not hard, it is just time is not enough. So if it is too late to practice QR, my suggestion is just skip hard Qs on the test. You will still get about 16 or 17 if you skip half of the Qs. But don't forget to mark them anyway.

Relax... I am going to tell you as it is. Most of them are word problems like ~75% and most of them are very easy algebraic manipulations. if you know your basic geometric formulas, basic preclac ie. sin, cos, etc... and their formulas. Its going to really help you out.

Some people suggest that you skip all the word problems and go directly to algebra or whatever problems. I suggest if you do that you will waste your time. if you dont know how to do something just think and make an educated guess and mark then move on. So that if you have time you can get back to it. or in the end if you ran out of time you at least have an answer to those questions.

The real QR is not hard but you will be burned out by the time you get it to it. Thats why you have been practicing to build up stamina. 👍 you can do it just believe in your self. and dont forget to skip problems so you can spend time on the ones that you know. hope this helps.

Math is one of the more challenging subjects on the test ofcourse because of timing and the vast variety of questions .......try to do as many as problems as you can and yeah its a lot of word problems mostly .......i suck at math dude honestly i do but i got the math destroyer and just started doing problems again and again and i mean im getting better and you'll get used to it and the many different types of problems that cud come on the test everyone i talked to says the math destroyer is similar to the real test I am also using topscore and sum kaplan stuff. so get ur hands on what you can
