USC Acceptance/Alternate

Last night, I checked my USC status in the "Already Applied" section, and under status it says "Alternate".

Is this an early notification of my status or is this some sort of default until Dec1? Anyone else have anything else different, like a blank or accepted?

I can't be too sure about this but I recall vaguely Brian stating that everyone would be placed under the alternate list after the interview until a decision has been made.

Everyone that interviews is an alternate at USC, they just pull people off their alternate list for all acceptances.

If you got your post-interview packet yet, it states that everyone is ranked and they will start pulling people off that list.

Hmm...though I already interviewed, I have nothing on AADSAS for USC status. Anyone else in the same boat?

Mine is listed as "alternate" too on the USC website (nothing on AADSAS). I got really upset until I read this thread! There may still be hope! 😳

ahhhh no one else is having trouble logging in? I am freakking out now, i would think i would have at least been put on the alternate list...does any1 know when usc sends out their acceptance emails?

If you actually listened to Brian during your interview, he specifically mentioned that after interview everyone is placed on their "Alternate List." So, the fact that your status has changed to that simply means that you've interviewed at their school, and doesn't say anything about whether or not you're going to be accepted.
