Interviewed 1/20
Accepted 2/1

will probably decline

Hi,
Since you guys have already been interviewed, do you happen to know the name of the thread where people who've already interviewed at USC have posted some of the questions they were asked? I'm looking, but thus far in vain 🙁 Good luck to you all!

USC doesn't really have a one-on-one interview...they do have a mock pbl session though.

There are no questions. Only a writing sample with a random topic. Don't sweat it and there is no way to prepare for it. It just tests your ability to write down coherant thoughts.

I know the amount of effort we all did to get to this part, the interview, but honestly, you can't prepare for a USC interview. Just relax. If anything, read up on what PBL is and have a good understanding of that. Nothing else will effect your interview.

Good luck!

Also remember these little factoids, they will help you relax....

1) USC has probably the longest acceptence cycle in the country! They are still filling their class through the summer! I was talking to a student there that got an interview invite in April and got in in May!!! This wasn't a freak of nature occurrence. Other stidents in his year had similar experiences. At the time of my interview (1/20) only about 25-30% of the class was full. It's not like UoP which is pretty much full by Jan!

2) USC isn't a first pick for many of thier acceptances (based usually on cost or the PBL that some don't like). A lot of people will decline the acceptance, hence increasing your chances.

so, keep your head up. You got a very real chance of getting in.

Good luck

Unfortunately, I do not have any hard numbers. The only info/facts I have are these:

1) At my interview on Dec 8th, only 67 people were interviewed so far (including our group). At that time, no one was accepted yet. That afternoon the first round of acceptences went out.

2) They plan on interviewing 250-300

3) They plan on filling the entire class by April

4) The only other round of acceptences that I know about went out Jan 27th or so.

5) They are behind schedule this year

That's about it. Take from that what you will 🙂

Good luck

Wow, you had more specific numbers than I'd even hoped for. Thanks.
