Hey Guys,

I just got an Interview from USC, I'm from Virginia. I don't mind the traveling and I really want to go to this place.

Interview process. the e-mail said to bring your immunizations and a form with is asking for the scrub sizes.
ALSO, the e-mail states that the interview is a "group interview." Anybody knows what that means, and how do I actually prepare for it. There will be lunch where you meet and greet current dental students and facuity.
I know usually schools ask for your immunization records and scrub sizes after the interview process.
I'd really appreciate it if anybody going to USC or has gone to the interview process to help me out a bit.

Thanks.

It's a pbl session to see how you like it. Just state the facts of the case and you'll be fine. Gl

I understand the PBL Session that the whole USC Dental school uses to teach their curriculum. BUT I would really appreciate it if anyone can share their experience of the interview day. What will exactly happen during the PBL "Interview" session on the day of the interview??? Any tips that would help me in the sense.

I really want to attend USC. What kind of things are the facilitators looking for ??, I mean its a group of like 20 to 30 students in the PBL session.

Hey,
I have a question. We don't need to bring the immunization proof to the interview right? We just need to sign it that we will give the proof before matriculation right?

I interview on Feb 7. Plan to stay overnight on Feb 6th at a nearby hotel within walking distance since it is hell to drive to LA and be on time for morning interview.

I'd like to know what's this group interaction is all about. Can someone elaborate? 😳

Hope you survive the jungle of an interview

During the PBL interview, you will have about 9 to 10 people in your group, and there will be two or three interviewers who will be observing and scoring. First, you will pick a question out of a hat that contains random questions, and you will read the question and answer it in front of your group. I have heard these are icebreaker questions, but In my opinion, everything, such as your tone, manner, etc, will be observed once you enter the room. After answering these two questions, you will then proceed with the real PBL interview.
This interview is also for you to see if the PBL lecture will be good for you. You will be given a case to discuss about. Each person will have the chance to read a paragraph, and also to be a scribe. Try to volunteer for at least one of these. Also, one of the key points is not to overpower anybody. The point of this interview is to see how you interact with others, so please try to go with the flow, not overpowering anybody.
The interview is pretty easy, and you don't have to really prepare for this. Just go to the website address that explains how the PBL works, such as facts, ideas, etc.. And you should be fine.

Good luck!
