Hey guys,

I called today and scheduled my interview on the 25th and I was told it was the last spot. Anyone scheduled his/her interview that day?

I am very excited, trying to arrange my flight and hotel reservation now. I have been reading a lot about USC rumors and I do not know what to believe. I am going to check and see how I will like it. Have any tips about the interview and the essay you have to write ?

Thanks in advance,
T

Keep an open mind for the interview (not really)... pbl is definitely not for everyone and you will have to see for yourself. I would recommend not to speak over anyone, let other speak while looking at them in the eyes, participate (writing on the board/paper ;offer your opinion a bit) during the mock pbl section. Don't dominate or Don't be shy if you want USC badly!!!

One more thing... make sure you put effort into the secondary/personal data form.... I would recommend to use the pdf that they sent and print it off that! Don't write!

Anyway, that's my opinion. Good luck

hello fellow predent,
I'm just wondering what was the topic in for the PBL session you sat on? If a person doesn't know about the topic then how should one respond? Does it work by people taking turns to speak or is it just free with no rules...
Does everyone get to write/take notes or is it ones person that gets to do that?
Any other suggesstions about the essay they ask your to write?

Be assertive but let others speak too. You don't take turns but when their is awkward silence be the one to start up the conversation again.

For class of 2014: THey will probably tell you at the interview but the entire series of PBL will be reduced/cut/trimmed. A total of 8 cases that span 2 weeks each are being completed eliminated. You'll have PBL only twice a week (monday and friday) with wednesday being filled with something else. NOt only does this reduce the repetitiveness of some topics but maybe gives a day for lecture (not sure on this)? What's for sure is that case twice a week means a lot more free time..lol Also, PERIO will be taught more traditionally and not through pbl case based learning.
