USC Hybrid DPT program

Hello, excuse me if there is already a USC hybrid thread already, but I couldn't find one. I was wondering if anyone has heard anything back. I've been on the phone weekly with Mikayla, walking me step by step with the application and my status. She did tell me that they haven't filled any seats at all and they will mark my application as complete by this week. I clarified that the priority deadline (October 11th) is different from the early action deadline (January). Its just cheaper to apply before 10/11. If you would like to share, go for it. And if you know anyone that's currently in it, I would like to hear their experience.

I was told last week that it should be about 4-9 weeks until we hear something, but it could be as late as April 2020.

Thank you! I haven't spoken to any current students yet but I reached out to Mikayla to see if she could connect me with someone currently in the program. the price is a big concern for me as well

Yeah I’ve spoken to Mikayla on the phone for long periods of time just bugging her about info. I’ve been trying different Facebook groups and still haven’t got an answer to get insight from current students. I might be too skeptical but I should trust USC to be prepared in this. Especially with all the technology advancement and a professor telling me to take the acceptance if I get one. My fear is just my WiFi giving out mid exam and the price tag

No just the hybrid one, I live on the other side of the country so it would be even more expensive for me to go into the residential program

Whoops, turns out I was accepted the same day I posted this! The acceptance email wasn't very clear haha

For those who got accepted, did you receive an email explicitly saying you got accepted? I just received an invitation for an open house and it says for admitted students. So does this mean I am in?

If you are admitted to the hybrid program you'll receive a call from whoever is advising you through your application, and you'll also be emailed with a formal invitation to accept a seat in the incoming 2020 class

That's good to know. I feel it a bit backwards that I receive an invitation for an open house but haven't been formally notified for admissions. I'm hoping its not a mistake and that I did get into the program.

I met a few people who were accepted when I went to an accepted students day in February and was able to exchange numbers with a few people. We’ve had virtual meetings with student advisors too where I’ve met some of the students. I think they’ll set up some sort of thing on Facebook or something closer to when the semester starts
