Is anyone else participating in the USC interview Monday 2/11?

I'll be there too. I'm from Southern California. Where are you both from?

Haha.. I had a minor "freak out" attack on Friday night when I posted this... I was so excited when I called to schedule the interview and I didn't even write the date down. So as I was doing the secondary (i know, last minute) I started to think... What if I show up in a suit and there's no interview scheduled for that day? That would be a disaster.

Anyway, I did some searching on predents.com and found some other people were scheduled for Feb. 11th.

I'm in Los Angeles. I'll be driving through traffic on the 10 to get to USC!
Very excited!

How did it go? I have an interview at USC Feb 15th, so excited.

Everything went well. First, there was a review of the USC SoD by an admissions person. Then, we had a financial session where we were told tuition for 4 years is $375,000. After that, we did a mock PBL case (dog Scout got sick---how could he have gotten ill?), which was followed by a short writing assignment. Some questions were: describe a meaningful event in your life; if you could travel anywhere, where would you go; talk about a current news event; if you could ask the President anything, what would you ask, etc., Next, we had lunch with students (sandwiches, chips, cookies, and soda). finally, there was a tour. The students and staff were all really nice. Good luck on your interview.:luck:

Oh, I almost forgot to mention that we were told that the class is only 25% full at this time. 😀

25%!! So it seems they still have a lot of seats to fill.

I plan to apply to USC next year so it seems to me I have some hopes for USC!

What is mock PBL case? can elaborate that?
Thanks in advance

Well, I hope you are familiar with PBL and that it is used almost exclusively at USC or you are in for quite a surprise.

As for the “mock” case:
You are put into a group of 10 students, and given a random case about someone with a medical condition. Together you try to pull out the facts of the case and try to develop ideas on what led to the sickness. Then they give you a little more info and it kinda pulls you in a certain direction while you pull out more facts and develop new ideas all while trying to solve the case.

PS. The case is very novel and does not require a strong science background whatsoever.

You just made my day!!!!!!!!

I have an interview coming up later this month but I have a question. In the financial aid presentation did they mention if the financial aid (loans) covers the full amount of the tutition, equipment and living expenses? It seems to me like the loans offered will not even be enough to cover tuition.

Have no fear (or lots?) in regards to securing loans..... They will provide enough loans to cover everything. Just be prepared for a bit of shock once you see everything added up. Some loans will be @ 6.8%, but much of the remaining funds will be @ 8.5%

So are they still giving out interivew invites? Anyone know when they are sending more invites? I need one!! haha

they will have another interview cycle in april I guess, so there is still a chance for you,, just hang in there,,,
