USC Post-Interview Email

Did anyone else get the post-interview email from USC?

It says in the email that "Having successfully completed the interview phase of the application process you are now one of a select number of individuals, whose application has been ranked for the 2011-12 acceptance cycle."

Does everyone get ranked, or does this mean they are looking favorably on my app/interview? One of my top choices so just wondering.👍

Since you interviewed, you will be ranked against all the other interviewees. You are better off than someone who hasn't been interviewed obviously, but the ranking is just the order in which they scored their interviewees. I'm guessing they start by accepting their top 36 ranks...etc etc.

Your in......USC plays by different rules.

Read between the lines. Do you think they would send that email to somebody and then reject them? Look at the attachment.....it is matriculation information. Go ahead and call your parents. Congratulations.

Nah, I think they send that to everyone who interviews. They told us at the interview that they'll be sending it to everyone.
 
i interviewed there a couple of months ago and never got that e-mail.
 
Looks like maybe not everyone got the email. They did not say explicitly that I will be ranked highly or anything along those lines. However, they did ask for my contact information as well as a few other people they could contact IF I were to be accepted December 1st. Interviewed Nov. 4th btw. Guess it sounds good🙂

I think I'll give them a call tomorrow and ask what's up, but I'm pretty sure the email is sent to most people who have interviewed...
 
im just worried because i never received it and i interviewed a couple months ago..
 
At my interview they said that everyone who interviewed should expect a follow up email. They said that they don't reject applicants who interviewed until the class is filled. So technically, everyone who interviewed will be either accepted or waitlisted.

Yes. I got the email today. Interviewed early November

Yes. Sent in that paper already. However, didn't get any emails about the ranking. Oct 6th interview.
 
I just got the post-interview email today with the "select number of individuals, whose application has been ranked for the 2011-12 acceptance cycle" statement. I interviewed early November. From the looks of the attachment, it seems as though this is something everyone gets. It says that of the 500 interviewed, 500 will get a post-interview status change while 144 will be accepted. HOWEVER, if people are getting these at different times-it could mean that they are sent out in the order that we have been ranked? PS-my status online has not changed from the previous 'interview' dialog box yet.

yeahh thats what i thought.. i think the early interviews (september- first week of october) received a packet in the mail and the later interviews received emails. Thanks for the response indigenoustw. however, can anyone confirm this?
 
I called them, it's a "standard email they send to everyone."

Doesn't it make you curious what your rank is though? I wish they would tell us. Maybe after acceptances are handed out I'll call.

Directly from that same e-mail "Although we do not release ranking numbers or placement on our list please be assured that your application will remain under active consideration until the class is filled in August.".

I wouldn't bother calling to get your rank...

Just wonder can you guys guess how many students will get pre-December interview ? Cause someone they might give out 60 by dec 1st, cause normally school accept more students than the actual seat.

Welllll there were 18 people on my interview day, and I was given about 7 days to choose from in November alone, so I'm guessing much more than 60. We were told that 36 students would be accepted on Dec.1. They have waves of acceptances until the class is filled.

36 is the actual seat, but they will send out more than that for sure. But overall, it's only 1/4 of the total of pre Dec interviews.
 
does everyone who interviewed already have their status on the ucs portal as alternate/waitlisted? this has been my status every since i interviewed.

No. I interviewed early November and my status has said 'interview' since.

Yes.

From the interview day, I recall that they said everyone who completed the interview will have the alternate/waitlisted status. I think it's just a way to distinguish those who got interviews pre-Dec 1st from those who don't or haven't gotten one yet.
 
my status hasnt change anything. Is it possible for students, who interview on early nov know their results on Dec 1st? or you guys think we have to wait till next wave of acceptance?

I'm guessing next wave, but the really strong ones will get a dec 1
 
When are the known interview dates? I believe I was second wave so I'll post the interview date options I received in my email.

Could someone list the October dates and other dates in November? This way we can get a better picture of how likely it will be to get a Dec 1 acceptance (since they give out 36 spots). Assuming 25 students per interview there were 175 students interviewed from my wave.
 
yeah, i think that would really help if someone can list the oct interview days. And i think those day are the only options for nov, and they done till dec 1st

I saw some in the 'specific school' forum that had interviews on the 17th and 18th, which is making me curious as to how many actual pre dec interviews there are.
 
so that would make 9 day of interview (9*25=225) and only 1/4 of the class size was notify by Dec 1st.

Interesting, thanks. Anybody have the other November dates? I'm assuming they did 3 waves of invites.
 
Possibly. I believe in my interview though they talked about how they give out acceptances on December 1st and my interview was Nov. 11. So I think getting an acceptance then for Nov. interviews isn't out of the question, or at least I hope so
 
I'm sure USC loves looking at this thread and watching us squirm
