Well, two things about PBL that I found useful.
1 It is applying what you suppose to learn from lecture.
Instead of being taught, u find ur answer.
if you havent heard of the almighty Kreb Cycle example,
you havent experienced PBL.
2. more group interaction. lecturing style, it is u and ur professor and dreamlands. being in small discussion group, u have to participate. u learn to work with others and build an even stronger bond with ur peers.
Yet, I am not sure if PBL is the best idea, but i like hybrid such as the ones in Harvard and Ohio (i believe). All-in-all, it shows a passion and commitement to teach/discover new ways to teach. Do your professors care about what they teach? In PBL, you are basically your own educator. It is more personal responsibility to learn. If you are highly self-motivated, PBL is good for you.
