Not sure if this is already a thread somewhere…but for those of you who use iPads in clinics: what apps do you find most useful? Does anyone use a program that can somehow organize patients? Or common drug apps?

Thanks!

I just searched the App Store and found "Tutor for Bento" as the only app that looked remotely relevant, but no actual program. Do you know if they still offer it, or if they may have discontinued it for the newest iOS? It looks like its mainly a Mac desktop app.

There are several apps that can be of use for vets - I'm not sure if you'll find them useful as a student, though they do offer some good reference info: Things like the CVP (Compendium of Veterinary Products) which is free, and ChocTox (a small animal toxicity calculator, also free). And Epocrates Rx (for iPad - free) is a human medication app, but can still be handy, not only because we use a lot of human meds in animals, but also in cases of toxicity, when a pet has unfortunately eaten some of its owner's medication.

The $50 for the app was kind if rough, but I thought the apps for small animal differentials list was totally worth it. Not that I relied on it. But when you have 3 transfers in the morning that you have to SOAP from scratch and 3 other in patients to all SOAP and put together treatment plans AND actually do the treatments for before 8am... it's really handy to find a quick list of DDX for a blood value elevation or weird clinical sign you don't see all the time.
