I am helping my brother look for some BS/MD programs through the country. I think a few years back USF has a 7 year program where you were guaranteed admission provided you meet their goals for GPA, MCAT, etc. It looks like now you are not saved a spot and only can participate in a 7 year track. http://usfweb2.usf.edu/honors/ap_med.html

everyone is accepted to the USF 7 year program who is accepted to the honors college. It is easy to be accepted but not so easy to stay in. I think when i contacted them a couple months ago they said only about 25% of the people who start the program end up finishing, but that may just be because of there liberal admission policy. The reqs to stay in the program are slightly higher than the average GPA and MCAT for USF's medical school. IMO it is a good program if you live in Florida and were perhaps already planning on going to USF. I wouldn't recommend going to USF just because of the combined program.

Besides 3.7 and 30 the rest of USF requirements are complete a thesis, do 40 hours volunteering, 40 hours shadowing.

Dear god if I had this guarantee I'd have jumped on it like... um...

Now they require at UMiami a 26..

thanks guju, that's good info...miami has upped it to a 28 now and they are planning on moving it to a 30 in the next few years though
