I’m using auvelity for the first time pending insurance approval. Do you guys just keep whatever ssri the person is on, add the auvelity on top of it then taper then taper the ssri if the auvelity is successful?

Is the SRI partially effective for said individual? Which SRI? What SRI dose?

Yes, exactly what you said. Add Auvelity, then taper off if you want. If they are doing good on both, you could keep them on both, just like wellubutrin with an SSRI. But to limit changes, I will just add the auvelity first, then taper.

i was wondering the same thing. But ultimately i would assume there could be efficacy for both combined, but i suppose it makes sense that if theres partial efficacy to the primary agent, auvelity could be used as adjunctive, but if no efficacy on primary agent then switching and just using auvelity seems to make sense more

If I'm in your shoes, and thinking medicine X has not worked (and now want to use auvelity), then I will offer the patient to stop the medicine, and start a new one.

Why Auvelity and not the two constituent ingredients separately?
Because lots of people are dumb and don't know how to measure out doses of OTC meds appropriately. Agree though, if the brand is expensive I've done that a couple times. Have actually not seen patients really benefit from it personally though.
