Hi, so I was hoping to get your opinions on this: Is it a good idea to take a phrase from the school's website (particularly admissions section) and work it into your secondary to explain why this school is a good match for you? Or do they look down on that? Any feedback would be great, thanks.

It would be in your best interest to convey that a) you identify with and b) you will contribute in furthering the school's mission and goals. This doesn't mean blatantly copy-and-pasting long phrases from the website though. I think it will be perceived as more sincere if you convey it in your own words, but throwing some keywords and short phrases here and there from the website won't really be an issue.

I think you should "reword" it such that your essay addresses the points the Admissions Committee is likely looking for. Basically, "use your own words" to show them you're hitting their mission statement.
