USMLE 2010 Step 1 Content Practice Test (138 Questions)

what's up guys.. everybody i know has macs and the Free 150 is only available for windows.. so I went to the school today to use a PC there to take the Fred 150 question exam and it wouldn't install due to restricted harddrive access (school computer).

it's 138 questions versus the 150.

Anyone know if this exam is comparable? To anyone who has taken the Free 150, are the practice questions on the linked-exam above the same as the ones on the 150-question exam? if they're different I'll find a PC and take the other exam but if they questions are the same there's no point..

I used the med friends estimator to estimate my score; it came out to a 250, which seems high cause no way am I that prepared (yet) so I was wondering if the test is on the easy side or if I just got lucky.

i quickly browsed through them, definitely saw about 10 questions from the free 150 so i think its the same thing, not 100% sure though.

The Free 150 only has 143 questions, and 5 of them are multimedia questions in their own little block. I believe those are the same 138 non-multimedia questions.

I'd say the test is a bit easy but not that easy. It probably overshoots by a bit, but if you look around the forum, I think you'll find that the medfriends calculator spits out scores pretty well in line with what people are scoring on their NBMEs and UWSAs.

It shouldn't be called "Free 150" anymore because it's a little confusing. The questions in the pdf are exactly the same as the questions on the download version EXCEPT the download version has 5 extra multimedia questions like what MilkmanAl said.
