So I am going to be an MS1 this coming fall. From reading many posts on this topic, it seems a majority of you would recommend to not start preparing for boards at this point because I won't understand a majority of the material. I am going to heed this advice as I am not trying to waste my time. However, I would like to create some sort of review for myself as I go or maybe use some 3rd party materials so I can stay on top of major concepts and not have to cram a bunch come the boards. Any advice out there or materials I should use?

For those that think you wish you had began preparing for boards early on,what materials are solid? I know of FA, GT, UWorld, and Kaplan. Are those the best?

Just FA until at least a couple months into 2nd year IMO.

Everything else will either be a waste of time, and above your pay grade in 1st year, or something you want to save until the last month or two before you go take your exam.

After anatomy I'd recommend picking up a subscription to a program called Firecracker. It will really help you hone in on the important stuff in your reading.

So is it basically futile to start firecracker day 1 because anatomy will just consume me during that time?
