It's happened twice so far since my exam: suddenly becoming aware of stupid mistakes I made.

One mistake I had made snapped into my mind as some form of hypnagogic realization ~4 nights ago (5 days post-exam).

The other was tonight (9 days post-exam) while I was lounging out with friends. Lounging with friends! I wasn't even thinking about the USMLE! That's let alone the fact that I've been doing fairly well at suppressing it. Quite bizarre. I was looking my friend in the eye while he was telling me about his girlfriend; Gd knows why I realized at that particular moment. The mind likes to play games.

But yeah, both were UNmarked questions and neither was difficult. I'm trying my best not to freak out, because each question is obviously worth a lot of points (as I've learned from the NBMEs).

The point of this thread: to anyone else who's taken the exam, had you become aware of stupid errors you made only after the fact? And did things still work out okay?

I've reasoned that this is probably a very common occurrence, but regardless, I want to gain a serious idea as to ~ how many errors on average (with no exaggerations) are typical.

I'd appreciate it,

Darn....does this mean you only are going to get a 270? 😉

You'll do fine. I bet your mind is just playing tricks on you. Relax Dr. Plastic surgeon.

Yeah, it sucks but it's normal. I couldn't resist looking up questions so I did it immediately after the test and the following weeks. Then I got back to hacking demons in Diablo 3 until third year started and it all became a blur.
