Hi all

am medical student from bahrain

am not sure but i think that the school system is pritty different here, to have the MD digree you have to finish the pre-medical phase ( which is one year ), then the preclinical phase ( three years - Problem based learning ) and then the clincal ones ( two years )

I finished my premed and starting my basic sciences this season 😀 ( pre-clinical )

so do you advise me to do USMLE step1 after the per-clinic or after having the digree ??

and do you ( as someone had or even preparing for USMLE ) have any advices about things i should do throughout my studies, things to watch out ( so i get good marks and also become good physician )

thanks all 🙂 🙂 🙂

i'm not sure exactly what you get in the "pre-clinical" years, but i would say take the exam after the pre-clinical years, don't wait until you have the degree. in my opinion, the USMLE step 1 is mostly basic science with clinical intergration. most of the concepts you get in the pre-clinical years, which you may forget by the time you get to the MD degree.

good luck with everything
