Hi there. I'm a medical student from malaysia, and I would like to take the usmle and am currently preparing for it. I understand most of the rules etc, but i am quite confused with the marks. there are 7 blocks, with 50 ques each, that means 350 questions rite? So, if i score say i get 270 out of 350 questions right:
a) what's my status ie fail/pass?
b) is 270 over 350 good?
c) if it's good, does it pass the mean or so?

its very complicated, an dthe nbme does not release its formula. 350 questions asked, but only 300 'count' (the rest are tossed or are experimental), and from there, the average is about 218 (does NOT correlate to number correct, though). A 270 is about the highest score i have ever heard of anyone getting.
