Step I USMLE scores

hey guys
Just curious to know.. do what USMLE Step 1/2 scores one obtains depend on how many people actually take the same step on THAT PARTICULAR DAY??? Or is it calculated on basis of previous percentiles and scores?

And also is usmle a computer adaptive test or is it a pre decided set of questions??

The score is based on previous and current test-takers. It is not adaptive.

We had one of the test writers come talk to us and he said that your score is only based on the performance of previous students for those questions, not current test takers. So, going into the test, it is predetermined that a certain raw score will correspond with the real score.
