Is there a practice USMLE Step 1 that can be taken at the prometric center? I was under the impression that there was and was wondering how to sign up for it. Anyone know? Thanks!

Yes you can take the half length practice exam at a prometric center, but only if you've registered for the real thing. It's essentially the same process. Go to the NBME website and using your USMLE ID number and password that you got when you registered for Step 1 you can sign up for the practice test-- they will send you a bright yellow ticket in the mail-- it takes a couple of weeks, then go to the prometric website and pick a date.
BTW- it's 40 dollars, and I don't think you have to take it at the same prometric center where you're taking your test
