Does anyone have any resources for practice cases (CCS Cases) for USMLE step 3? Of couse, I've done the three cases on the USMLE CD-ROM, but am looking for more.

Any other advice on the CCS cases?

What kind of topics has anyone had?

Thanks.

It's hard to tell, because they don't give you a breakdown for the cases on your score report, just your total step 3 score, but I got a decent step 3 score, so here goes:

do the standard of care w/u for the chief complaint. don't get nutty and do brand new evidence based medicine... just go with what the textbooks say. you do not get bonus points for diagnosing something quicker, so your w/u can be more extensive as long as it's reasonable. pay attention to social history, counsel pt's on their condition, quitting smoking, etc. counsel pt's on routine screening tests (mamms, colonoscopies, PAP smears, etc) Don't get too frustrated by the length of the case. I had some where I was sure I was doing the right thing and they went on forever. Some ended lightning quick. There was only one where I was pretty sure I didn't do that great on, because it kept telling me "he's still sick, not improving."

I read Crush Step 3. It's good. And it has good advice for the cases.
