Hi everyone,
Would you please let me know what the significant differences are between USMLE and NMBE ???
If I want to specialize in Oral Max Facial Surgery, would I have to take NMBE or USMLE ???
Thanks in advance.

The USMLE is the three part exam that you take to do a US MD residency. The NBME (I assume that's what you meant) is the board of medical examiners that create the USMLE.

I think it can be confusing because people here typically refer to the practice tests for the USMLE as NBMEs.

From my understanding,
USMLE is the medical school board
NBME is the shorter 4 hour dental school exam.
It is based on the same questions, just a shorter exam.
Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks !

Ah, you're confusing it with the NBDE (National Board Dental Examination).
USMLE = What medical students take to get their license
NBME = The organization that sponsors the USMLE
NBDE = What dental students take to get their license

Also, the DAT is what pre-dental students take to get into dental school. As for the differences in difficulty/material presented, I can't comment on that because I have no experience with dental school material. But I'm sure someone will be happy to provide you with a snarky/sarcastic comment.

The test you will be taking is the CBSE which is written by the NBME which also writes the USMLE (the one medical students take). All of this information is on AAOMS' website.
