...a great, but brutal question bank.

I'm batting about .500 on blocks of 50 random questions.

...am I even going to pass this thing?

UWorld is hard!! There are some really really great questions on there though, they are worded much like the NBME tests - but with an extra step of reasoning. My scores suck in Uworld, but I took NBME's and my scores were satisfying - so take Taus' advice and do a practice test to see where you're at. 🙂 :luck:

I was in the same boat as recently as a couple of weeks ago.

My first instinct was to cram in as many questions as possible but it really does help to just limit yourself to 50-100 a night and carefully read over the explanations. I've been able to boost my scores considerably since then.

I'll be trying an NBME exam this weekend to see whether or not that's just a fluke 😀

UW Rocks.

5 weeks prior = 40-50%
2-3 weeks prior = 50-60%
1 week prior = 60-80%

Good Luck.

Thanks...I'm one week out, hopefully I can push close to a 70% by test day.

I suppose the one thing I've learned in all this: how it must feel to manage the Chicago Cubs.

someone already mentioned that it's the "feel" that you should get from UW, but how about this strategy? Doing questions by subjects. After all, people wish they had finished all UW questions. Of course, not just to know the answers, but to know and understand commonly asked question topics. I would do questions in tutor mode, annotating review books that I'm going to read again after I finish doing questions for each subject. Also, since the NBME is better? predictor, wouldn't this be better than flipping through different review books for different subjects tested in a block of an exam? What do you guys think?
