I have gone through all of first aid and goljian audio having annotated stuff from kaplan lecture notes into first aid. I understand everything written in first aid

Now i am reviewing and i spent the past 2 days looking at cardio section in first aid and know everything in there. Now i opened uworld and am getting quite a lot of wrong answers. When i read the answer explanations, it all makes sense easily then

So my question is that if i know all of first aid and all of the uworld explanations, can i expect to definitely pass at a minimum? Is uworld really only a learning tool just so that people can learn more information which is found in the answer explanations

Also the uworld percentages of answers people chose im guessing is skewed. For example if i miss a question the first time and get the same question right a second time after i restart my sub would bring the question percentage to 50 percent. What is usually the percentage people get right on uworld questions first time going through it?

Or should i truly not worry about my percentage right now and just make sure i know each and every explanation of every answer choice?

When are you testing? If you've got more time then I wouldn't sweat the %s as long as you read through the answer explanations and learn from them. Also, knowing the content is important but you need to get good at reading and deciphering the question stems. Using basic test taking strategies (reading the answers first, crossing out wrong answer choices, etc) will help you save time which is key and as you gain more experience on qbanks you will start to notice the clues and common phrases in the stem which can help you identify what the question is all about. I hope that helps!

Thank you. If i know all the explanations of uworld cold and truly understand them and know first aid, can i at least with most certainty pass usmle step 1?

I take my step in 2nd week of april. Also how many questions per day should I do? I was planning to do 50 questions a day so in about 44 days finish it. That includes after each 50 questions to carefully review each answer explanation and correlate it with first aid.

Then after 44 days, reset my uworld and just do it test format for a 2nd time pass through while possibly adding in another question bank

Is that a good idea?

Am i doing it right by basically absorbing as much info i can from
Uworld explanations and first aid and committing them to complete memory?

You are on the right track.
Try to do as many Qs as possible since not only they make you think from different angles but also keep everything fresh in your mind.
Taking NBMEs at intervals is essential since if you don't know where you are then how can you reach where you want to be ?
