hi,my sister is giving her cs in 3 weeks.she would like to know how important it is to read the book usmle world cs.if any of you have read the book or taken it online ur input will help,thanks.

Hello all,
I am an IMG and did the OASIS TRICK on efmg.org and i was striked that it let me register and go ahead. my score is already reported on 28 march 2007.
Does that mean i simply failed???????
what's the chance for an IMG to pass despite being allowed to register on IWA?

It takes around 14 days to get the result by snail mail.

I would appreciate it if I can read replies from IMGs with similar situation.

What makes me concerned is that i did very well during the exam. I wrote nearly full PNs and behaved well with pts. My language was good as i spent 2 months doing elective course in the U.S before the exam. I have never forgot to Knock the door, naming pts, wash hands, taking permission, or exteding the couch for P/E. I answered all the challenging questions when asked. mistakes "which i consider them minor 😕 " include forgetting to do do complete pulmonary exam except auscultation for a case when indicated, not closing all (~1/2) the counters with conclusion. I had one case where i was nearly totally confused with, there i kept repeating same questions for the pt and he looked anxious form me, and i was mingled with the p/e, but i think that even complete failure in one case would'nt affect the pass/fail result along with doing fine in the others, isn't that?

I don't know what to do in such a case where there is nothing to do exept waiting the snail for the mail.

If you it makes you feel any better. I am IMG that fail as well. Believe it or not, I am an Americian born. I fail in ICE. This is what I don't understand. Gathering info was from low to the middle, but my Pt note was only 4xs. I know how to right ;-P (write) a pt note HPI, PE, DD, Plan. I dont know where I lost points. I admit there were about 4 pts that I might forgot to put something down. As with every pt, i did the HPI med, social, pmhx: pe -- did very quick heent cvs pulm abd; dd I put things down that were relavent to the case (like I said earlier I was iffy about 4 cases b/c (1) told the pt a possible dx but forgot to write it on note (2) knew the plan but I knew my dd was weak (3) I realized after I sat down forgot to ask patient an import ? about history happen on 2 pt: the plan I put the million dollar workup as shown in the 1st aide.
I dont understand why my pn was scored sooooo low?????

Sorry I had rant about my failure. Not closing is A BIGGGGGGG Mistake. Always close each encounter to give the pt some idea whats going on than leaving them in the dark. Trust me from pt encounters in the hospital, that is the worst thing you can do to the pt (besides killing them ) is keeping them in the dark. By closing you also shows the patient you have an idea whats going on (even though we dont know half the time what is going on) and by asking if they have any questions, as i mentioned earlier, doesn't leave them in the dark. I hope this was helpful.
