I am a medical student planning to take USMLE step 1 in my clinical year...may i know it is advisable to do this? wil lit affect my performance either in USMLE and clinical year.. anybody outthere to tel me...thx

with all due respect...you are in medical school....you are smart enough to figure out that you will have more time to concentrate on your boards and rotations if they are not at the same time....

You need to check with your school about this. At my school, we are not permitted to take Step I during our third year (we have to pass it before we enter third year).
