I was just curious on how you think the new USMLEasy compares to the others. Do you think the questions are reflective of the test?

From what I hear, the questions are taken from a Pretest book and placed on a website.
I wouldn't pay for USMLEasy, go with Qbank.

Thats just it...the service is free, for the next 10 days or so. I would ude the questions more as learning tools, not acurate measures of testing. The vignette styles are crazy (ome that are 9 questions long) and some of the stuff is way too easy/hard. But it is good to learn and reinforce.

why is there only 10 days left? u have to suscribe afterwards? how much does it cost?

It costs about $100 to subscribe but its free now so I'm trying to take advantage of it.

I have found a number of wrong answers and multiple right answers. Unless you are very strong or check all answers in books, you risk memorizing information that is wrong. Too important a test to risk with untried material!

Ive been using it for quite a while now (studying for finals and occasionally for boards). It is very different from Qbank in many ways. At times it seems way to easy and at other times they ask you about things that are never touched in Qbank and dont appear in First Aid. If I had to pick between the two I would go with Qbank. It has tested true with time. The other thing is that the explanations on USMLeasy are a lot poorer than those on Qbank... they make it kind of hard to learn from your question. Most importantly that website runs sooooo slowly sometimes that it just kills you.

Ever notice how there isn't a single embryo question in USMLEasy???

I thought it was funny how some of the usmleasy questions were like 7 words long (What part of HepB signifies current infectivity). I don't think there's any such step question that's shorter than 50-60 words.

The behavioral questions, which for some reason seem to deal with excruciatingly current research findings, were ridiculous. And god, yes that site is slowwwwwwwww.... stick to other sources

I have 27 days. I need all the resources I can get (question wise)

I just got a questions that said NE is the cause of depression. That must be why SSRI's are so effective.

Guys they both are, pg 35 HY behavior science

The way the question was phrased, it was as if it were the only cause.
Yup. Seretonin was one of the answers, along with NE. I put Seretonin, and got it wrong.

For all the faults of USMLEasy, I do kind of like it. Especially because it's free.

yes, that is the answer that you can spot that is wrong...but what about the answers that are wrong and you don't realize that they aer wrong?

Today I tried to log in and it kept telling me that I am not using the correct pasword, than my "true" password was send to my email and it is exactly the same password that I was using in order to log in, but than I tried again and the same story repeats itself. That frustrates me. 🙁

The Pharm section seems okay though. Has anyone check out the biostats section? I always thought biostats = biomath. But the USMLEasy, biostats is "how many smokers between 1990 and 1995 will develop lung cancer." I have yet to see any questions on sensitivity, specificity, odd ratio, etc.

i'm getting the same message, can anyone else log on?

Djipopo: The same thing happened to me. I was able to log on a few hours later. I'm using it right now, actually.

Ceez: I've encountered about two questions on positive/negative predictive value, and sensitivity/specificity.

I've decided that USMLEasy sucks. I've seen way too many answers that were, in my opinion, extremely suspect. Plus a million typos. The heart rate of 120 breaths/minute. Dividing 350mg by 7 mg/mL and getting 50 liters. This thing needs a good editor.

lol. I got the 50L one right. Yeah, I;ve ditched everything but Pharm on it for the moment.

I've also noticed that when reviewing my answers after taking a test, the screen almost always says "you left this answer blank" but correctly calculates my score anyway. USMLEasy is far from perfect.

Freeness ends in 29 minutes if it is east coast, 209 if west coast. Maybe I'll leave it open and hope they don't shut me off. I have 200 questions I still want to do
