Hey i got into USP 6 year pharmacy program, and i'm having a tough time choosing colleges since I also got into St. John's 6 year and Northeastern 6 year. I hear really bad things about St. John's in terms of faculty administration and campus. Northeastern I don't hear many bad things but I'm worried about the financial status it might put me and my family in. USP is my polar opposite to Northeastern, it's cheaper than Northeastern and is also a smaller school. I was wondering if anyone could give me any info on these three schools?

Yeah USP is cheaper than NEU. I got a $17k scholarship per year for 4 years to NEU, and USP still turned out a little cheaper, considering living costs in Boston.
I'd love to go to school in Boston, and NEU's campus is really nice, but USP isn't bad either. It is a bit boring at times, but you have the city to occupy yourself with. By 3rd year you'll probably be working as a pharm. intern anyway so you won't have that much time for being bored.

Bacillus, when you say a little cheaper, do you mean like 1k-2k or like 5k-7k. The thing is, my sister lives in Boston, she attended Boston College Undergrad and is currently in Boston College Grad program, planning on doing something with Bio, i'm not too sure. So I really like the idea and the fail safe of having my older sister there, I know I can't rely on her when I'm older, but family is always nice to be with. I'm just worried about the co op and such. Yeah the price of living in boston is big, but i'm thinking about all the different situations I could possibly go in. Financial wise, I know my parents are going to have to pay a lot, but they're willing the sacrifice, and I already made a pact to myself that no matter what i do i would always thank my parents and that once i graduate i would pay them back more than what they've given me.

I'm also thinking about the big campus picture. I hear that USP is really small so I'm kinda worried about that. I like to be alone sometimes, but I'm always part of the crowd when it comes to events.

I live in NJ so my top choice was rutgers and it still is. So I'm gonna try transfering to rutgers no matter what comes my way and hopefully something will click in time.

It was only like 1-2k a year cheaper, assuming the cost of living to be the cost of on-campus housing and meal plan for all 6 years (and now I actually have an apt. which is much cheaper than USP on-campus housing), but keep in mind that that was after the 17k per year for 4 years scholarship (not sure what your financial aid package is, and I assume you got the 7k merit grant from USP, since everyone does). There's nothing to be worried about when it comes to co-op, people work in the summer regardless even if they're not in a co-op program. Both are pretty expensive. If you really want NEU, go for it, just research its actual pharmacy program first.
I know USP ranks above NEU in U.S. news and world report, but those rankings really don't need much. I guess see what professional opportunities there are at the school, and see if they're what you're looking for.

my ultimate goal is research, but my main goal is being a pharmacist and also having teacher certification. Cause my entire family history has been full of educators and science majors. And I'm really interested in both. Of course i could become a college professor and solve all my problems, but that's thinking too far ahead.

i like the idea of being a retail pharmacists. Talking to customers, and doctors. If i really had to choose something related to retail, it would probably be being a hospital pharmacists or consultant. I really like the feeling in a hospital. My mom's a nurse so i visit her a lot.
