I posted this in mil medicine forum as well, so if you see it both places you know why.

Does anyone know what weight USUHS gives GPA vs. MCAT scores? I have a 36Q as of last night, but my GPA is 3.25ish with a 2.88 BPCM.

I've served for 7 years as an AF Pilot, so I have a good military background.

Anyone know?

Hard to say for sure but you should be right in with your background. Apply early though. I had the same MCAT (lower writing section though 😀) and a 3.85 G.P.A. and I was waitlisted at USUHS. I took my name off the waitlist though because my wife and some information I found on some threads changed my mind about military medicine. Wish I could give you more, but I know that they give a lot of weight to military service (and rightly so). I think you should have no problem as long as you apply early. I'm sure that is why I was waitlisted. They fill their class up fast.

I'm applying early (already submitted primary app, waiting on secondary). The BPCM is from 8 years ago. My non-science grades are consistent at 3.75ish, with some graduate that's that high or higher, but non-science related.

Do you have "recent" science grades? I guess this could be overlooked (not having recent hardcore bio/chem/physics) due to your great gpa. But from the folks that I know of attending USUHS (with prior military background) they had both good solid mcat and good solid recent coursework....just fyi.

I think your current MCAT score makes up for the low (and old) BCPM. I had a horrible BCPM (after being out of school 5 years before applying) and a relatively low (when looking at med school averages) overall GPA. Because of this, it was imperative that I produce recent and superb BCPM grades. However, my MCAT wasn't even in the same neighborhood as a 36.

If you can take a science class in the fall, try to do so. However, it's my feeling (just looking at your numbers and military experience, while not knowing you at all) that you have a good chance of receiving a USUHS acceptance before your fall semester grade even shows up.
