Looks like no one else on SDN applied MD/PhD to at USUHS. I actually was invited to interview for an MD/PhD spot. But, I declined the MD/PhD interview for a regular MD one, mostly because I am feeling so frustrated with my research right now and am currently strongly leaning towards a more clinical/public health direction. I didn't feel I could talk positively about my research experience. Also, there isn't much information about their MD/PhD program. And, I haven't been able to talk to anyone who is in the program. But, from reading their grad school research catalog, it seems that they heavily emphasize military science type research. I would love to be a doctor in the military, and in fact am almost positive I would become a "lifer" if I do matriculate at USUHS, but research in military science doesn't particularly interest me at the moment. I plan to take a year in med school to figure out whether I'm still willing to devote the massive time and effort into the PhD.
Now, I'm curious... did you apply for USUHS' MD/PhD program? And, did you apply to USUHS?
