Although I did not end up matching to this school, I’ll always be interested in how it develops since this admissions process different from what we see in most of the Texas schols.

I think the negative association of casper / academic performance and mission fit / geographic ties is a big indicator of how much the region needs help. The primary education here is just markedly different compared to urban schools. Going from high school to undergrad was an eye-opening experience and frankly crushed my ambitions for a while because I did not feel like I could possibly measure up to everyone else.

I am hoping the UT Tyler students can knock the board exams out of the park to show that East Texans just need a chance to shine to do well!
