Utah DPT

Is anyone interviewing at Utah this week? I am nervous about the group interview...any advice?

I'm interviewing there. I also have no idea what to expect from the group interview. Never had to do one before! One of my individual interviews is with the president of the APTA though! Super nervous about that one!!!!

The group interview consists of you and 2 other applicants as well as a faculty member, a PT from the community and a current student. They each take turns firing questions at each candidate and then at the end, they have the 3 candidates work together on a mini group project of sorts. You will have to give a mini presentation after conferring with each other for a few minutes.

The challenge is making sure you don't come off as too overbearing (talking the whole time, interrupting others.... in other words, making the whole interview about you) or come off as too timid (short answers with no substance, not participating very much in the group project, etc.). It's an interesting experience for sure.

As far as interviewing with Dr. Ward (APTA president), he is very, very nice and easy to talk to. I wouldn't worry about that one too much... 🙂

Previous poster summed it up.

I'm a current student and will be escorting. I will see you there 😉

Anyone accepted into the UofU DPT program? I am currently on the wait list and I was wondering what the acceptance letter states...

How long do you have to let them know whether or not you accept or decline?

Just wondering as I am hoping to get pulled up from the wait list!! 🙂

They gave us until March 1st to turn in the deposit. So it will be a few weeks before waitlisted people get notified.
