UTenn applicants: long PS?

I'm still working on my UTenn application, mainly because of the personal statement. They ask for a detailed statement about how you got into dentistry, so I wrote up something that is 2 pages single spaced and pretty detailed. I have no-one to compare with, so I'm hoping some of you out there have applied to UT as well. How lengthy was your personal statement?

This thing has taken me forever, I am in the final stages right now and the essay is floating right around the 16,000 character limit.

umm....why don't you just cut/paste your PS from your AADSAS application??

My UT personal statement was about 2 times the length of my aadsas one. It was around 1.5 to 2 pages single spaced, I was told length did not matter, but you don't want to write a novel.

AADSAS has the 4500 character limit, which basically prevents you from writing the "detailed" account that UT asks for. I consider AADSAS more like a cover letter, and the UT PS to be more of a biography.

Not that I have any more to write, really, but I think I'll stay put at 2 pages.
