No I didn't, I was getting discouraged so decided to call them and they said they are still processing applications (had a lot) and that no interviews had been sent out yet. 🙂

She also said that she didn't know exactly when they were going out could be until the end of the month.
 
Whew! Thanks for letting me know. I was getting bummed out too- good to know they're still working on it. If you don't mind me asking, did you apply to only UTMB, or to other schools too? I was just looking at another forum with applicants for this year, and the average GPAs look like 3.9-4.0! So high!
 
no problem 🙂 Well I applied to 3 schools UTMB, TWU, and UTHSCSA...what about you? and I know exactly what you mean!! I've been looking at some GPA's and they are extremely up there makes me nervous and has been stressing me out :/ My pre req GPA is high but my total GPA is nowhere near a 4.0 its not bad but compared to a 4.0 it is.. Do you mind by chance sharing your stats by chance?
 
Of course! I also applied to UTMB, TWU Houston, and Tech. Overall 3.77 and prerequisite about 3.7. I hope we hear back soon. This waiting game is so stressful already! Would you mind sharing your stats as well? 🙂
 
No not at all. My gpa is between 3.68-3.7 not exactly sure since I dont know if they will count the classes I took after graduation. Pre reqs depending on schools anywhere from 3.85-3.9 I know I really hope we do! By chance did you apply to tech early admission or going for the dec 15th date?
 
Nice, well I still think we have a decent chance. I applied to Tech early admission, so I actually have an interview on Saturday. I don't even know how to prepare for these things! Have you heard back from either of the other schools you applied to yet?
 
I have a phone interview with Tech on Saturday as well! I'm so anxious and don't know what to expect!

BEST OF LUCK!!! 🙂 I think i might apply there to increase my odds before the dec 15th deadline! and no i havent because all the schools i've applied to either the deadline just passed UTMB being the first, and the others the deadline hasn't passed yet.. so its going to be a long waiting game! lol

That's great! You should definitely apply to Tech. Your stats look really good, so I'm sure you won't have a problem with any of the schools 🙂
 
Hello I'm new to the forum. I'm interested in occupational therapy. I have a bachelors in health service management from Wichita State University. My overall gpa is not that great 3.11. The schools that I'm interested in are:

Rockhurst University
University of North Dakota
Brenau University
University of Findlay
University of South Dakota

I don't want to take the GRE! I'm in my late twenties. I plan on applying next fall. I was wondering do I have a chance of getting in??? Is there some advice you can give me?? Please and Thank you!!![/SIZE]

and well TWU makes me very very nervous since there is no interview process.. so that one has me discouraged

what is your pre-req Gpa? most schools take that into great account.. I have really never really looked into those schools besides the major texas schools..Thought i'd give them a chance before applying out of state next year
 
Hey everyone!

I also applied to UTMB! I also applied to UTHSCSA and will be applying to Texas Tech!

My stats are:
Overall GPA - 3.93
Pre-req GPA - 3.85
I also have research experience which I made sure to mention. I am presenting research at the Texas OT state conference in a few weeks!
 
I just received my invitation for interview at UTMB this morning! Has anyone else received one yet?
 
Just got off the phone with UTMB. They have not sent out all their interview invitations yet. They are still in the process of doing so and should be finished by the end of next week. (And as someone who has not received one yet, that made me feel a whole lot more relaxed!!) Also, the person I spoke to told me that either way we should receive a notification: either the invitation or a rejection. So at least we will know one way or the other soon!

Yes ma'am I got an invitation on Tuesday and it stated that they were still processing a good amount of applications. They are only having two interview dates as well. To my understanding they had sent out about half of the invitations and sending out a total of 120 total. Agreed you should try and relax (easier said than done I know), and BEST OF LUCK!! 🙂 by the way do you happen to know how many slots UTMB has for the MOT program?

I am new to the forum!

I got my invitation last week and will be going to the interview on the 15th!

I am a little concerned because I did not realize how high the GPA's were for previous years.. mine are good but not that good!

I know what you mean FUTUR3OT! this whole waiting game makes it that much worse....i'd like to fast forward to February when we should hear from all the schools lol what does your Gpa look like?
 
I finally got my invitation for an interview for UTMB! I so ready! Does anyone know how many people are expected to be at the interview each day? When I got the email I only had 2 interview days to choose from but I am sure the earlier people had more!

Also will there not be a group interview?

And finally, how many students are accepted for the 2014 class?

I was told they only accepted 60! And what I read off the email it only said individual and essay only 2 interview dates so I’m assuming 60 per day.. Hey by chance does your email say they are interviewing 120 applicants as well? I heard they might off added more. I received my email more than a week ago so just curious.

Major: Music Education
Cumulative: 3.43
Last 60: 3.69
Pre-Req: 3.58-3.76 (depending on the school)
Volunteer Hours: 30 Pediatric; 25 Outpatient Setting

As you can see, my stats are not nearly as competitive as some people on this forum. I really do think UTMB looks at the applicant as a whole. I have two years experience as a music and reading teacher.

@Krys: It said in the email that the top 135 were being interviewed.

Hello all! Does anyone know what types of questions will be asked at the UTMB interview?
 
Sorry for all the questions. But to those who have already been accepted anywhere and are still not done with prerequisites. What are the requirements to keep your admission? Like what grade do you need in the incompleted classes and by when do you have to have them done? Thanks!
 
Just want to share that for anyone who applied to TWU - they will be sending out acceptance notifications in mid-January. I wish we didn't have to wait so long!

@nikkimald: I haven't been accepted yet, but I'm in the process of completing the prerequisites. I believe you would have to maintain your grades and that you'll likely need to send a final transcript to the school once you've completed the prerequisites so that the school can see that you've complied with their admissions requirements.

So sorry, just seeing this. My overall GPA is 3.54 and my prereq so far is 3.5(depending on the school) and i'm still taking 3 more classes right now.

How was the interview with UTMB? I will be interviewing this week and wanted to get an idea of what to expect. I'm nervous, but excited 🙂

I keep forgetting to visit this thread lol..sorry. The UTMB interview went well. The interview wasn't as stressful as i'd thought. Be yourself, be well spoken and confident and most importantly...relax 🙂 Goodluck tmrw!!!

I believe we'll hear back from them no later than December 23rd and calling won't help. They already told us not to bombard them lol

I know it's still pretty early, but has anyone heard of any news or updates?
 
For those of you who interviewed UTMB. You know how Shannon said to email her if some of our prerequisites that we had did not show up has completed. I have emailed her twice with no reply. Any one else have this problem or email about the same issue and get a response?

They had my prereqs but not my last semester of college updated (I am a second year applicant, only made it to the wait list last year)
I emailed because with my last semesters grades my cumulative is a 3.87 and I also did not get a response back

Yes I have left a voicemail and have emailed her and still no response. I'm sure they are crazy busy right now but nice to know i'm not the only one, was getting very worried. 🙂
