Hello, I'm a long time reader of the forum and it has been an immense help. I'm interviewing tomorrow at UTMB (march 1st), was wondering if anybody could give tips or things they typically ask just to get a better idea on how to prepare myself.

Hi there!

I didn't apply to UTMB but I recently had an interview at UTEP. Two questions you will most likely get at any school are Why OT? and Why do you want to come to "insert school name here." Try to come up with an answer that is a little more unique and less generic than your run of the mill "because I want to help people." Research UTMBs' facilities or any research projects that current faculty is working on and try and work that into the interview somehow.Anyhow, I wish you luck!

About 30 applicants. So nice to meet everyone. Now we're at the dreaded waiting phase!
Where are you going to school corgi13?

I'm back in the applicant pool for UTMB; interviewed back in November. Holding on until they make a decision; but I may go ahead and accept elsewhere. Did they tell you when you'd hear back?

I think I read you got accepted to tech?? That is wonderful! I have a friend who went there and loved it! 🙂

That's great to hear! Yes, I got accepted at Tech. I think UTMB is my top choice for a lot of reasons (ranking, length of program, location). But the impression and feel I got from TT was so much more warm and inviting. Everyone was awesome, professors and students.
I applied at TWU, TT, and UTMB.
TWU rejected me from the start (no interview). Then I got into TT which was a hugeeee relief!
I was a lot less stressed for the interview at UTMB, but I felt like I didn't get a change to really talk about my experiences during the personal interview the way I had at TT. So, I'm a little worried =\
But hearing you say your friend loved TT makes me feel better 🙂

At UTMB they told us we would hear back after the 14th, since it takes them about 2 weeks to process/evaluate applications.
Where were you accepted? How was your interview experience at UTMB? I'm nervous about mine =\
