I will likely be doing a 4th year PRS away at UTSW, and I was just curious if anyone had previous experiences or thoughts about the program that they could share that might be informative...

I did a rotation at UTSW when I was in my 4th year and found it to be a wonderful experience for many reasons. The rotation is set up so that you get to go to 4 different places during your 4 week period meaning that you will see everything from cosmetic, to pediatric craniofacial, to hand surgery, to micro, and then back again. This also means that you will be the only student during your whole rotation as they divide you up. The residents were all extremely hard working and dedicated, but were extremely friendly and easy to get along with. The faculty are some of the best in the nation and you will see things there that I didn't even know existed in plastic surgery. You will work hard and work many hours but after rotating there I knew for a fact that plastic surgery was my calling and I ended up with a letter of recommendation that every single program asked about on the interview trail as it was from a very well known respected surgeon.
Do it, you will not regret it.

I did not do an away at UTSW, but some of my friends on the trail had and they either loved it or hated it. (I think the three that matched there had rotated there and ranked it their #1) It is a very unique environment for specific personality types. If you match there, you will be a rock-star plastic surgeon. Just be aware that it has a reputation of being a very intense and hard program and I knew that it was not right for my personality so I didn't even apply there. Also, the 4 wks there are some of the hardest of your life, but then again, if you do an away anywhere (which you should if you're applying for plastics) you'll hopefully work harder and longer than you ever thought possible! So, UTSW is one of the top programs in the country, but also known as one of the toughest to get through.
