I am utterly impressed how UVA have processed my application so fast. I am VA resident and interviewed on 2/11 and got the ACCEPTANCE letter on 2/21 that's less than 10 days and the best part is the letter dated on Valentine's day (Lots of Love in the air... Yeah....).
UVA was my last of the 5 interviews and my first acceptance. I've been waiting forever for other schools to reply because I am also wait listed for MD/PhD at Vermont.
I am interested to know if anybody experienced a fast reply like this from other schools ?

Thanks
KT.

I was greatly appreciative of my state school too. I interviewed at the university of south carolina (THE USC) on 12/11/03 and received my acceptance letter on 12/17/03. I really thought they had a great interview process there. you have 2 individual interviews and then meet with all of the admissions members for coke and cookies (lame, i know, but it was nice to meet all of the committee). after the little gathering, they go and talk about you. you are fresh in their mind and it means you know in about a week!! worked well for me anyway...
congrats on your acceptance!

I personally like my 170+ day turnaround time from University of Pittsburgh. Has anyone else been waiting since an early September interview for any word from a school? Sheesh...there's no way they remember who I am.

Poloace,

I interviewed at Vermont on 1/16/03. Got an email from the MD/PhD director about four weeks later and said that I am waitlisted and he will seriously considered me if a position opens up. However, I have not recieved the fromal letter of acceptance to the MD program yet. I really liked the the people and the program in Vermont and it just makes me uneased if I have to turn them down.
Anyway, I'm not anxious about this whole process anymore cuz it's really a boon to get a right out acceptance from my top choice state school, especially with taking the August MCAT and interviewed in mid Februrary. When I was at UVA the admissions director told me that most of the class is already filled up but I kept marching on and crossed the finished line.
Good luck with your admissions at Vermont. If I can be of any help, let me know.

KT.
